FAQ

Where is TC Raw Eats located?

We are located in Long Beach, California. We started our business in 2018 doing deliveries around the SoCal area. We recently set up our shop at 2746 E Broadway, Long Beach, CA 90803. Come on down for a visit! We'd love to meet your dogs!

Can my dog get Salmonella from eating raw?

Dogs have a higher (acidic) pH when fed raw which is a very undesirable environment for bacteria. Because of a dog’s acidic digestive system, their strong stomach acids naturally disarm the salmonella bacteria before it can cause any harm. When preparing your dog’s meal, be sure to sanitize the area when you are done!

How do you introduce your dog to raw feeding?

Not every dog is the same. Some dogs have a healthier digestive system than others. Older dogs should be transitioned much slower than a healthy dog or puppy. The transition should take place over a two week period (for older dogs it may take a month or more depending on their current health). When starting out a raw diet you should introduce one single type of meat at about ¼ of their current meal and increase this gradually. During this time be sure to limit treats and mid-day snacks to a minimum or none at all. This will encourage the dogs to peak an interest in their new meal. One way to get them further interested in the raw food is to add a small number of incentives to their dish, such as cheese or organic coconut flakes. While you are transitioning, and any time you add a new meat, fruit or vegetable to their diet, keep an eye on their stool and any changes that may happen during this course. Mucus in the stool or itchy skin may happen, but this is normal. It means that their body is detoxifying, and new healthier cells are being created to boost their entire system. Out with the bad and in with the good!

Can I feed my dog kibble and raw at the same time?

Your dog would rather you didn’t. If you are transitioning into a raw diet, you can ease the dog into their new diet. If your only option is to sometimes feed raw, then adding some raw is more beneficial than none at all. Portion your raw addition appropriately. You will see the benefits of raw!

What goes into TC Raw Eats?

The Ideal TC Raw Eats pre-portioned meals are 20% fruits and vegetables, & 80% animal proteins. We follow the BARF guidelines and make sure that our products are 10% bone. The bone is necessary for proper development and nutritional values. Don't worry, dogs can digest the bone quite easily because of their high pH stomach acids. We recommend NOT cooking the "donuts"  in any way. The cooked bones can cause splintering and we don't want that! Also, by cooking, you are removing all those good enzymes and amino acids that make raw feeding so amazing!

Where do we source our food?

All of the products that go into TC Raw Eats "donuts" are locally sourced and USDA, human-grade. We choose foods with no artificial ingredients, preservatives, fillers and with no by-products. Everything that goes into TC Raw Eats is nutritious and carefully thought out. We want the best for your pet and our hearts go into every batch.
